The top 40 anglers from the 2020 Renegade Bass Tour is now set and teams are preparing for Classic XXV on the St.Lawrence River out of Brockville. Competing teams are faced the fact with ONLY Canadian waters are eligible from Cornwall to Lake Ontario.

Flying Dutchmen, John Ebbers and Michael Vandenberg won the fifth and final qualifier of the 2020 Renegade Bass Tour series bringing 24.08 pounds of smallmouth to the scales anchored with a 5.92 smallmouth. Their bag of smallmouth bested another impressive bag of smallmouth. Kyle Healy and Adam Howell’s bag tip the scales at 22.44 pounds with a beautiful 5.11 smallie, good for 3rd big fish on the day. Q4 winners, Aaron Powell and Johnny Fidaoui had 2nd big fish on the day with a 5.13 smallmouth.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to report the sad news of Jim's passing in the very early hours of Sunday morning. (August 9,2015) In his Seeleys bay home.

No one had a bigger passion for fishing than Jim. He did it all from wading rivers for trout and salmon, ice fishing, charter boat captain to bass tournament angler and he was good at all of those things and all things fishing. He always tried hard and was always a serious competitor in any bass tournament with his favourite jig & pig, but most of all his passion for the sport included a tremendous dedication to being a true sportsman and doing things right. He had a big heart but he had no time for controversial activities among anglers and had no problem standing up for the sport and rules that govern it.

Many of you know Jim from the Limestone Invitational Bass Tournaments that he fondly operated for many years. This was a project that Jim and I dreamed up in my garage one evening while enjoying a cool Rye and Diet Coke. Jim took the concept and idea which revolved around having bass tournaments that were not all about money but instead focused on fun competion, comradrie and bragging rights. This endevour started out as a success right out of the gate. Many local anglers from both the Kingston area and Northern New York took part in this low key bass tournament circuit. Jim always said that he would keep running the tournaments as long as he could and as long as there was an interest and participation. So sadley I guess with Jim's passing so goes the Limestone Invitationals as well.

Jim had friends everywhere including his buddies in New York and the 1000 Islands BassMasters. I know I speak for a lot us when I say we will miss him.
